Nursery Pro tip: A Knock Out that stays knee-high. Perfect along walks and in front of taller shrubs.
A groundcover rose bred from Knock Out toughness and miniature size — 1–2 ft tall, 2–3 ft wide, smothered in small roses from spring to frost in coral, pink, red, peach and apricot. The answer for the front of a bed or a sunny slope.
Full sun, six hours minimum. Drainage and air movement. Space 2–3 ft apart for a solid carpet; excellent in large pots.
Spring or fall. Hole twice the pot width, ball at grade, native soil plus compost, Root Stimulator, mulch off the crown.
Twice a week the first month, then once or twice weekly in summer at the base. Pots need water almost daily in July.
Rose food in March and again in June; last feeding mid-August.
Cut back to 8–10 in in late February. Light shearing after a bloom flush brings the next one faster.
Rose rosette disease — remove any plant showing brooming, red distorted growth or thorn clusters. Aphids early, spider mites in a hot dry summer.
