Bright golden-yellow evergreen foliage all year, no flowers, no berries and no seedlings — a sterile selection, so it won't reseed the way old ligustrum does. 3–6 ft, dense and upright, and it holds its color through our summers without scorching.
Full sun for the best gold; part shade turns it lime-green. Any drained soil, including hot reflected spots. Space 3 ft apart for a hedge.
Any season, best fall or spring. Hole twice the pot width, ball at grade, native soil, Root Stimulator, mulch.
Twice a week the first month, weekly the first summer, then every week or two.
Spring shrub fertilizer; iron if the color goes pale rather than gold.
